The description

Need to maximize cable pull distances, reduce splices and avoid cable damage during installation? Join American Polywater Corporation, an industry leader in underground cable placement and termination products and asset system reinforcement, to learn how.

The webinar will highlight how extending cable runs can dramatically reduce landfill costs by eliminating vaults, splices, and electrical fixtures. When the cable is installed in conduit, it also reduces system life cycle costs.

This question-and-answer discussion of cable installation and conduit design will explain how using actual field voltages from previous cable pulls can more accurately predict future cable pull voltages.

All attendees will receive a FREE copy of Pull Planner 4.0 cable tension software just for attending the webinar.

Learning objectives

  • Understand the theory of traction and friction as it relates to cable installation tension, sidewall pressure, direction of pull and cable pull distances.
  • To be able to estimate the pulling tensions of the cables, the pressure on the flanks and the blocking rate before the start of the pulling.
  • How industry guidelines, conduit type, cable pulls, and configurations affect termination voltages and conduit designs.
  • To understand how lubricants and lubrication procedures can affect your installation and the life of your cables.
  • Use Pull-Planner™ 4.0 computer software to facilitate duct design planning and evaluation.
