The third annual Artist-in-Residence program is now open in Kelowna and artists are encouraged to apply.
Artists from all disciplines, including performing arts, digital and electronic arts, visual arts, literary arts and/or musicians are invited to submit entries.
Anyone who has lived in the central Okanagan for more than a year can apply for the 10-week residency, however, the artist or artist collective will be required to work in Kelowna for the duration of the project.
Art should address the theme of social inclusion and engage with the local community.
Interested artists or artist collectives can learn more about the program and the application process during one of the next two free virtual information sessions. Registration is required.
These sessions will take place on the following dates:
-
Wednesday, March 2, 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
-
Thursday, March 3, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Interested persons have until Monday, March 28 to submit their expression of interest via the online platform.
The selection process will take place in two phases with a limited number of people moving on to the second phase.
Artists progressing to Phase 2 will receive a $500 honorarium for additional work required to prepare a detailed project proposal and budget. Those selected to proceed to Phase 2 will receive an email confirmation by April 8.
