Fess Parker Winery reinforces its commitment to sustainability with the installation of solar panels


February 2, 2022, Los Olivos, CA – The Fess Parker family is pleased to announce the installation of new 548.4 KW solar panels at their Santa Barbara County production facility, furthering the family’s ongoing sustainability and conservation efforts.

Started in the 1980s by the late Fess Parker, the multi-generational family business continues its legacy of cultivating exceptional Rhone and Santa Barbara County Burgundy wines, driven by their commitment to quality and stewardship.

In recent years, recognizing that great wine is made in the vineyard, the Parkers have redoubled their efforts to restore and preserve the natural environment. Their family vineyard, Rodney’s Vineyard – a source of fruit for the Fess Parker Winery and Epiphany labels – has earned a great reputation for its quality Rhone varietals, in large part due to Parker’s dedication to enhancing and preserving its natural ecosystems to to produce the healthiest possible grapes. The installation of a new solar power system on the roof of their Santa Maria production plant is another step towards conservation, increasing the sustainability of winery operations by producing approximately 98% of the total energy used. every year. Comprised of 1,371 400-watt SolarEdge inverters and optimizers, the system will produce 818,000 kWh each year, which equates to offsetting 14,000,000 car miles, 31,000,000 pounds of CO2 offset and 15,000 trees saved each year.
